Why A Coffee and Tea Blog?
I have always had a strong love for coffee, for almost as long as I can remember it has been my morning routine since at least high school. In college I remember I would get headaches if I hadn’t had my coffee so my mother would bring me an iced coffee so I could function again as a human being. Thankfully, I am no longer as reliant on caffeine! I would drink just about anything for caffeine back then versus now, I would much rather one or two well brewed and timed cups.
I have spent years alternating between buying my coffees out somewhere and then occasionally making a cup at home but always felt like my coffee tasted better when I bought it out. Looking back, I think I really didn’t take the time to choose what I would brew and then I would dump a ton of creamer in it. At that time I drank it very light and the store-bought creamer I would get was just too sweet. My coffees would often times end up dumped somewhere on my way to class or work and I would be in line at the nearest place that sold a half-decent cup and still get me to where I was going on time.
During that time, I was just trying to get through my days. Now, I actually know how to make a good cup of coffee and can take the time to enjoy making it. I love making coffees and so I often make coffees for others and even though they always say they’re great, I notice things like the brew or the acidity level that I can work with. Each time I learn new things about coffee I always feel a little giddy waiting to brew my next cup.
Over the past year I have been brewing away and perfecting my coffees, finding the best way to brew multiple ways. I am lucky to have some fantastic test subjects who have provided some great feedback, and I am excited to share some of the knowledge I have gained and hopefully help you find your perfect pour!
Hope to see you again soon and Happy Sipping!
